Val...IMHO, this is a scam devised by the Democratic party to siphon votes from the Republicans (as you mentioned). William R. Hard from Freeland is running for the U of M Regent seat. The same William R. Hard ran for a Democrat Precinct Delegate. http://saginawcounty.com/Clerk/Elections/DemocratPrecinctDelegates.aspx It's not hard to connect the dots here. Maybe AnnArbor.com can do a little more digging into the other candidates on this so-called "Tea Party" ballot.

Is this candidate for real or just trying to split the Republican Ticket so the Democratic candidate will win? There is no way that anybody running on the so called Tea Party Ticket will win anything. The Tea Party is interested in smaller government and a government that gets out the lives of the people in America. A government that allows a person to live free with minimum taxes. A government that taxes for the security of the people. The Tea Party is for the candidates who considers the Nanny Government to be bad for everyone.

According to the detnews article, only one tea partier filed for UM regent. Is it someone local? I'd like to see a profile of this candidate.
