Ypsilanti man accused in dog attack rejects plea
An Ypsilanti man accused of beating a dog with a hammer declined a plea offer from prosecutors and is scheduled to stand trial on multiple counts of animal cruelty this fall.
Court records show Shawn Moore, 27, will face counts of animal cruelty/torture and animal abandonment at a jury trial on Oct. 18.
Moore rejected a plea agreement offered by Washtenaw County prosecutors; details of the plea offer were not part of the court record.
Police arrested Moore on April 1 after neighbors reported seeing a man kick and strike “Shadow,” a Jack Russell Terrier mix, repeatedly in the head and body outside a Green Road residence. The dog was turned over to the Humane Society of Huron Valley and is recovering.
Moore waived his right to a preliminary hearing last month and remains free after posting 10 percent of a $3,500 bond on May 21.

Maybe when the poor dog fully recovers, the dog should be allowed to kick and hit the man with a hammer or just bite him in the butt. Poor little dog. How sad.

The prosecutor was throwing him a bone, and he wasn't smart enough to bite. Now he will be thrown to the dogs and hopefully crated for a long while.

Hopefully he gets what's coming to him, then.
