Second man charged with robbing sisters at Ypsilanti's Peninsular Place

By Lee Higgins

A second man was arrested in connection with a Nov. 16 armed robbery at Peninsular Place apartments, an Ypsilanti police news release said.

Martez Dwayne Richard, 17, of Ypsilanti Township, was arraigned Thursday on charges of armed robbery and home invasion, the release said.

He was arrested Wednesday at his home. Theron Crawford, 23, of Detroit, was previously arrested on charges of armed robbery and home invasion.

Investigators say the men held two sisters at gunpoint and stole a laptop wallet, flat-screen television and other items.

Crime happens everywhere, even in our little bubble town. Comments are routinely deleted unless they support the Ann Arbor attitude that Ypsilanti (or anything east of US 23) is dangerous and getting worse. Glad to see the police are hard at work.

andy, Lets face it AA.com is only concerned about making Ypsi look bad and making Ann Arbor into a utopia.Bad things about Ypsi, front page, good things somewhere else.Yes ypsi has crime but the majority of it occurs a certian areas( we know where there at)But certian people just feel better when they can look down their " holy than thou " nose at Ypsi

So, when this story happened it was front page news here at AA.com. But the story about how the Ypsilanti City Police did a quick and effective job of finding and arresting suspects in the case are relegated to the Ypsilanti page. There seems to be a trend of putting stories about how dangerous Ypsi is on the front page, but putting all the stories about our law enforcement services being good at their jobs and keeping us safe on the less traveled pages. If it bleeds it leads, right?
