Pastry business 'Let's Get Sconed' latest venture for Ypsilanti's Cafe Ollie owners
Let's Get Sconed is a small company based out of Depot Town's Cafe Ollie that specializes in baking scones.
"Back when we started the cafe, Mark wanted to do scones," Danielle said. "So I came up with a recipe and started making them and one ouf our employees, Ben Lewis, asked if he could start selling them at the Ypsilanti Farmers Market."
It was Lewis who came up with the "fun" name for the business, Danielle said.
The scones include flavors such as strawberry, pumpkin blueberry and blackberry. They also sell "savory" offerings like the bacon, jalapeno and cheddar scones.

"He could only take it so far and we got our hand back into it," she said. "They sell really well and people like the name, so we registered it. It's part of our business, but it has its own entity."
In addition to the Ypsilanti Farmers Market, the Teachouts sell scones at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market, Cafe Ollie and Corner Brewery.
"We wanted to do a test market first," she said. "As soon as we take them to Corner, they’re sold out. We're trying to figure out what our next step is."
Danielle said if business continues to take off, the couple will eventually look at selling in "mom and pop" shops and more businesses in the area.
