Can Michigan State stop (contain even) Michigan's Denard Robinson?; U-M students hack Web site to play fight song and more

By Kaleb Roedel

No team has been able to find an answer Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson.

Does Michigan State have what it takes?

That's the question AP writer Noah Trister asks.

Writes Trister, "Michigan State (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) has already faced Notre Dame’s no-huddle offense and Wisconsin’s bruising running game, but this will be an entirely different challenge."

tgozblue OK. I'm not defending the MSU players that were kicked off. But at least, when you take a shot, aim at the right target. Your players left because they couldn't make it on the team that's too talented. So you didn't really want that 4-star player... that would have played in the secondary... that had been arrested several times... but RR recruited him anyway... and then the academic department wouldn't let him in... even though RR told us he was academically cleared? I believe there were one or two other recurits... that academic clearinghouse played a factor. Also... I have more respect for a coach that gave a kid a second chance, and then when the kid screwed up his second chance... was booted. There are coaches... that even though their player was convicted and sentenced (first offense0... violated probation for that conviction and went to jail (second screw up)... still lets the kid start at wide receiver. My point being... seems like both schools have enough trouble with the law. It appears that instead of bragging about your team being better... you are lacking in that area... so you are grasping for any attack that you can. MSU by 10!

"logic says that if you cant decide on your starter, that your options are equal." HA! Are you saying Lil' Tate is even on the same playing planet with ER? Come on.

concernedinsaline The bigger question is how many of your(msu)recruits are still on the team that haven't been dismissed or locked up for breaking the law. Our recent defections have been due to the players being buried on the dept chart and looking to go to another school where they can get on the field. The recruits from msu are either not in school or wearing striped suits. Again, continue to chew on your foot, it should be tasting pretty good to you by now.

That same player you speak of is the son of a UofM employee. With all of the crap that has happened at our school, we cant throw stones at sparty.

Calm down, sparties, the game hasn't been played yet. Controlling the clock and placing points on the board does work most of the time. Indiana didn't pound the ball and that's what scares me about MSU.

concernedinsaline A great family msu has become. Double digit number of players involved in a brawl after a team banquet, a player that just pleaded guilty to being involved in stealing hundreds of dollars worth of computers. You sure have become a model family to want others to pattern themselves after. Continue to stick your foot in your mouth.

Last I checked, Greg Jones wasn't a Heisman candidate... just throwin' that out there.

"Coach D has been whuppin' your butts in the recruiting game the last few years" Michigan has recruited better than State according to both rivals.com and scout.com 2010: Michigan #12 in recruiting. Michigan State #32 2009: Michigan #14 in recruiting. Michigan State #37 3008: Michigan #6 in recruiting. Michigan State #56 2007: Michigan #10 in recruiting. Michigan State #51 Has Michigan State improved? Yes. They still aren't even close to recruiting as well as Michigan. You have zero justification for your irrational belief. "remember that before the season began, you didn't even know who the starter was" Yes we did. Denard Robinson played with the 1st string offense in every scrimmage including the spring game. There was no question that he was going to start. Rich Rod didn't officially declare a starter because he didn't want to let UConn scheme against him all spring. Use your head. "We are going to pound the ball down your throat." Good luck. Michigan's defensive line and linebackers are the strength of our defense. Michigan isn't going to run the 3-3-5 against State. We are going to force Cousins to throw the ball. He is going to make some mistaks. Michigan's offense wont. Michigan wins in a close one.

on a second note, this whole control the ball and pound it down your throat argument is silly. indiana used long, time consuming drives and wore down the defense. they doubled mich in time of possesion. and oh wait, they still lost. points on the board are points on the board, doesnt matter if you scored in 2 plays or 20 plays

concernedinsaline - your comment contradicts itself. you first say that we didn't know who our starter was going to be at the start of the year, then you go on to say that if our starter goes down, we have nothing. logic says that if you cant decide on your starter, that your options are equal. im not saying that tate or devin are as good as denard, im just saying pick your comments a little better, and back them up with information that doesnt contradict them

Oh man! My Spartans should just not even show up. Denard is not a mortal man... he is Superman, Batman, aquaman, and Obama all rolled up into one super being! Why are they even playing this game?!?!?! The Spartans will be there. MSU as a TEAM will roll over um and win by 10!

Dear big brothers at the big house, We grew up! Coach D has been whuppin' your butts in the recruiting game the last few years. State's team has become a family while yours continues to have turmoil with transfers and eligibility and questions about the integrity of your coaching staff. I know Denard is leading the Heisman hype, but remember that before the season began, you didn't even know who the starter was. If he gets hurt you got nothin'...a former starter that lost his wings and a freshman. We are going to pound the ball down your throat and limit the number of your possessions. Sorry gang, but we will make it 3 in a row.
