Dominique Davis provides a Week 1 showstopper; Can anyone stop Michigan's Denard Robinson? and more
It didn't carry quite the pizazz as the "Flutie flushed" miracle, but Dominique Davis' Hail Mary heave that Justin Jones hauled in for East Carolina's game-winning touchdown over Tulsa was quite the Week 1 showstopper, so far.
For Davis, who transferred from Boston College, it was his first start at quarterback for East Carolina.
"That was the greatest experience of my life," Davis said, as reported by AP Sports Writer Joedy McCreary. "There was probably people in the
stands — our fans — who probably thought the game was over. But I told
the team, 'Just trust.' As soon as I let it go, I knew he was going to
catch it."
Michigan sophomore quarterback Denard Robinson carries the ball around Connecticut defensive end Trevardo Williams in the second half of Michigan's 30-10 season home opener win against Connecticut at Michigan Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

If there isn't anyone stepping up soon to help Denard Robinson then his performance will drop by the Big Ten season begins. DRob did basically what he would've done last year and his improvement should be truly valued when he faces a team with equal athletes......such as Notre Dame. I'm not expecting him to put up the same rushing numbers but I'm expecting him to be competent on passing when the opportunity presents itself. When ND floods the box, will Denard capitalize on their mistake? This will determine his growth in my opinion.

Man, I'll say it again, that was 3 hrs. of good entertainment on Sat. That was exactly what I'm talking about boys and girls. Ya, the win was nice but what I've been talking about is the improvement here. Look, chances are our team last year with the fiery Tate could have beaten this Con. team, my point all summer is that I want to see good improvement and I think I did see that. I will say this, I saw definite improvement in Denard Robinson, do any of you disagree?
