Former Eastern Michigan quarterback Charlie Batch declares bankruptcy

Pittsburgh Steelers backup quarterback Charlie Batch, who played at Eastern Michigan, went through bankruptcy court earlier this week. Batch had several debts forgiven after declaring $2.3 million in assets and $8.3 million in debts, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Batch played at Eastern from 1994-1997 and established records for total yards (7715), career passing yards (7,592) and touchdown passes (53). He was inducted into Eastern's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.

That would be the same Charlie Batch who is "mentoring" Terrelle Pryor? It sounds more like Pryor has been "mentoring" Batch. Hopefully, Batch takes advantage of his fresh start and pulls out a victory in the "second half."

I'm sorry to hear this. Charlie has always seemed like a decent guy, and hopefully he can move on from this. No one likes to declare bankruptcy (except people like Donald Trump).
