Goodbye 2009, goodbye Texas Tech coach Mike Leach and more links

By Michael Rothstein

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Welcome to the end of 2009 as all across the world today, different time zones ring in 2010. Welcome, also, to the end of the road for Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, whose 'Guns Up' style was at times both odd and beloved.

Leach was fired Wednesday, two days after he was accused of locking receiver Adam James in a shed for hours.

Meanwhile, his now-former team, Texas Tech, plays Saturday in the Alamo Bowl against Michigan State.

As for me, I'm in Bloomington, Indiana, where Michigan basketball plays Indiana in a few hours.
