Player of the year Tyler Palka wanted to be a QB because 'They get the ball all the time'

Saline High School quarterback Tyler Palka's father, Joe Palka, is a former college football player and has been a football coach for Tyler's entire life.

Tyler's grandfather played college football as well.

So it goes without saying that Tyler Palka has spent a lot of time around football.

With that in mind, it's no surprise why Palka originally gravitated toward the quarterback position.

"'They get the ball all the time, that's what I want to do,'" Palka recalls thinking when he first started playing the position.

He grew into quite the quarterback and this year led Saline to a 10-2 record and all the way to a Division I regional championship game and was the Player of the Year.
