Ypsilanti 71, Saline 69 (OT)
Jacob Simmons had all nine of his points in the fourth quarter and overtime for Ypsilanti as the Phoenix edged past Saline for an overtime win.
Simmons sealed the win with a pair of free throws a the end.
Ypsilanti trailed 33-29 at half, but scored 25 points in the third after a rousing halftime speech.
"We were a step behind," said Ypsilanti coach Steve Brooks. "At halftime we challenged some guys to step up."
Corey Allen did just that scoring 11 of his game-high 25 points in the third. Jaylen Johnson added 10 points and 17 rebounds for Ypsilanti (2-1)
Max Recknagel had 22 points and Reece Dils had 17 points for Saline (4-2). Both of Saline's losses this year have come in overtime
Adrian Harrison led Ypsilanti Arbor Preparatory (3-3) with 17 points and four steals, and Tariq Stinson added 10 points and four steals.
Romulus Summit Academy’s Gregory Glenn and Donovon Pressbery each scored 13 points.
Arbor Preparatory led 12-5 after the first quarter and held the lead.
Grant Clark led Clinton (7-0) with 11 rebounds and 21 points, including 7 for 9 from the free-throw line, and T.J. Baker added 12 points and four assists.
Rory Judge led Whitmore Lake (1-5) with 18 points.
"Whitmore Lake got hot from the perimeter and really played well all night," Clinton coach Mike Ruhl said. "Some of our key players struggled, but we were able to get it done in the end."
