Follow along as Father Gabriel Richard looks to advance to the state finals at Ford Field

The Wolverines aren’t the only team playing an important football game Saturday afternoon.

Father Gabriel Richard will look to become the first Washtenaw County football team to advance to the state finals in 15 years, when it takes on Portland in a Division 5 state semifinal.

Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Howell High School. We’ll be there providing updates on the game and chatting with fans.

The Fighting Irish come into the game on an eight game-win streak. Their most recent win was Saturday, 16-6 over River Rouge, to win the first regional title in school history.

Portland comes in a week after knocking off defending state champion Flint Powers, 45-28.
