DeVonyea Johnson, Huron run away from Dexter in 67-24 rout

By Kaleb Roedel

Some teams might come out relaxed in the second half after holding a 40-12 halftime lead.

Not the Huron High School girls basketball team. They've learned their lesson.

"The last time we were in this position, we had Saline down 33-11 (at the half). We came out in the second half and just lost our intensity," said Huron coach Steve Vinson, looking back on a near upset-loss to Saline. "So that was one the of the things we talked about at halftime. The score's 0-0, come out and play with the same intensity that you would at the start of the ballgame."

The River Rats did just that, as they continued scoring at breakneck speed in the second half, while muzzling Dexter on defense, en route to a 67-24 victory Tuesday in Ann Arbor. (Rest of the Story | Boxscore)
