Last week, Milan and Saline tied for the poll win in our first AnnArbor.com playoff “Game of the Week” poll.
This week, it’s shaping up to be another dogfight.
The two schools both won their district semifinal games last weekend, along with three other Washtenaw County schools, and advance to this weekend’s district title games.
And as of noon Monday, Milan’s game against Tecumseh had garnered 186 votes in this week’s poll, while Saline’s SEC rematch against Pioneer had garnered 178 votes.
Polling remains open until 6 p.m. Tuesday, with the winner taking home this week’s Game of the Week honors.
Two other games are in this week’s poll: Lake Fenton at Father Gabriel Richard has 115 votes, and Manchester at Grass Lake has 20 votes.
Both Milan and Saline squeaked by to get into the second round of the playoffs. The Big Reds scored in the final two minutes to top Carleton Airport, 14-7 Friday night, while Saline stopped a late two-point conversion and won, 16-14. Pioneer had an easier time with a blowout 34-0 win over Monroe to advance.

I'm sure someone is calling for you as well though it has nothing to do with football.

Just make sure you and your son don't show and we should be good.......fumblitisis. If you don't like Pioneers coach, don't deal with him, everyone is better off that way!

Show some love to Manchester. The Grass Lake vs Manchester game is going to be great. I do wish they would let teams play some new teams in the early round and not repeats of a few weeks earlier. If you want to thin a conference down do so in the regionals. Seeing a repeat is never as good as seeing a team we have never played before.

The term "dogfight" should have no place in journalism.

Pioneer vs. Saline will be a great game. I played in one of those and its not on the level of PiHi/Huron but you really...really don't want to lose to Saline. Pioneer 21 Saline 13
