Steve Spurrier right to criticize Big Ten's reluctance to oversign?; College presidents to blame for seedy recruiting atmospheres and more
South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier thinks the Big Ten would be more competitive if teams would indulge in oversigning like SEC teams do.
Does Spurrier have a point? MLive.com contributor Kyle Warber thinks Spurrier is right.
Writes Warber, "Big Ten fans should also know that their home teams already practice oversigning, too. They just don't do it enough to stay competitive with the SEC."
The SEC has won the last five consecutive BCS National Championships.

"As long as Hoke continues the development of our speed game, we may not have to cheat. But all anyone has to do is think back to Southern Cal handing us our lunch to know that, unles we press forward into the modern era, we stand no chance." A telling comment, this. Cheating, apparently, is acceptable so long as it leads to winning. It explains many of Theo's posts over the past few months, and no doggerel can obscure those ugly sentiments. Good Night and Good Luck

The SEC, otherwise known as: A conference of cheaters A conference that lacks academic standards for its athletes A conference of with convicted felons on its teams' rosters A conference where sleazeball coaches who couldn't make it in the Big Ten (where one is expected to follow the rules) find success. Maybe whatshisname can resurrect his career down there. His lack of integrity will be a good fit in that conference. Good Night and Good Luck

(Reposted because I figure AA.com is going to take my first comment down) I honestly believe some of these reasons are partially why Les Miles didn't want to come back to us, i.e. academic standards and how it'd affect recruiting, recruiting felons being frowned upon up here and just fearing he couldn't cut it in the Big Ten (particularly with the way Broke Rodriguez messed Michigan up) since he wouldn't be able to recruit a bunch of idiots and convicts.

Kyle (whatshisname jr.) W. is just a wanna be SEC hack, however, his prospects of being a gofer for Steve Spurrier just went up. Theo212, even you cannot come close to the SEC in terms of greediness, lol. Keep churning out those poems. MissioninBrazil, it is a great day to be a Wolverine fan instead of being a fan of any SEC team (except Vandy?). DUDES, GO BLUE! P.S. The "official" SEC chant is "GO $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$".

Theo "Even moreso, if we cheat... Let's get there by any means necessary." Spoken like a true fan of the King Cheater. If it were up to you, we would end up being like SMU in the 80's. Thankfully more competent and honorable people are in charge now. TiM ... Go Blue.

This is Michigan, the team to beat; Even moreso, if we cheat. Let's listen to Steve; a million schollys for free, Then we can trounce the SEC! I AM NOT kidding; yes, I am greedy. We win The Crystal by being seedy. This whole "virtuous, pristine ad nauseum blah blah gobbledeegook" nonsense has to stop. National titles (i.e. Crystal) is where it's at. Let's get there by any means necessary. Eyes on the prize; 'Tis very very wise. This has been a memo from Your President (aid to Your King)

I stand corrected. Nonetheless, my point is still made. Had the crash not occurred, the Fab Five would banners would still be hanging in Crisler today and the cheaters would have prevailed.

CWeb did not crash his SUV. IT was Maurice Taylor. If you are going to say something at least have your facts straight

Nice attempt to save your buddy from himself, but I think Theo is pretty clear in his message, he wants crystal "by any means necessary." Theo would be happy if Michan secretly (read smartly) meandered outside the rules in order to win crystal. Like he said, he's not kidding. I believe you, Theo. You must have been a big Ed Martin supporter before the cat got out of the bag. Remember, he'd never have been caught had C-Webb not crashed his SUV.

Theo is right and he doesn't mean break the rules. Theo, if you don't mind me being a buttenski I think what you mean is compete on a competitive level. Is Mich a perfect system or a competitive system and is this cheating or within the boundries of the rules. Whether you like it or not the game has changed and I for one don't approve necessarilly but I want a winner. If we can do it within the rules by all means. I say bend the thinking by an extra 10 kids and at worst I think we will break even, what say you? A bunch of these kids are playing a game of committing to more than one school before they actually sign, kind of like which ever way the wind blows. Now I don't believe in signing 20 extra kids but 5-10 is competitive.
