ESPN.com updated its 2012 college basketball recruiting class rankings Wednesday, and Michigan's current two-man crop was well-received at No. 14 overall.

Currently, Michigan basketball coach John Beilein has pledges from two players -- both on ESPNU's Top 100 for 2012.

Indiana currently holds the distinction as ESPN's No. 1 class in the country, while Michigan State comes in at No. 5. Purdue is the lone other Big Ten member in the Top 15, coming in at No. 11.

Villanova, Arizona and Pittsburgh currently hold spots two through four.

Lake Central (Ind.) High School small forward Glenn Robinson III (6-6, 175) is listed as the Wolverines' highest-rated commit, according to ESPN.com, at No. 53 overall. Robinson, the son of former Purdue standout Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson, is listed by ESPN as the 10th-best small forward in America, and is rated as a 94 overall prospect.

Rivals.com and Scout.com both rate Robinson as a four-star player. Scout slots Robinson at No. 39 in its Top 100 for 2012, while Rivals lists him at No. 46 in its Top 150 for 2012.

Michigan's other current verbal lies with St. Mark's School (Southborough, Mass.) small forward Nik Stauskas, who is listed at No. 85 in ESPN.com's Top 100 and has an overall rating of 93. Stauskas is also listed by ESPN as the 23rd-best small forward in the country.

Rivals.com currently rates Stauskas as a four-star prospect, and lists him at No. 99 overall for the 2012 class. He is rated as a three-star prospect by Scout.com.

Beilein and the Wolverines are slated to receive a visit from consensus top-five 2012 forward/center Mitch McGary (6-10, 250) on Sept. 3.

The NCAA's early signing period for the class of 2012 runs from Nov. 9-16.

Nick, I should have said welcome to Ann Arbor and good luck with your new gig. I'll try not to hold your MSU degree against you! Looking forward to your coverage of U-M men's basketball. I hope you'll pay at least some attention to the women's team as well. That team is also on the rise and could be poised for a breakthrough season this year.

Appreciate it, Raoul. Yeah, we'll keep that whole degree thing out of this! Happy and excited to be here in Ann Arbor, covering Michigan hoops – and anything else I can get into.

Not bad for Beilein although Purdue, State and Indiana are ahead of us with Wisconsin and Iowa close behind. Stop it with McGary please. He's going to Duke or North Carolina. We just don't get 6'10" players that can actually play.

Half of ESPN's top 100 players are uncommitted, so there's bound to be a great deal of reshuffling of the team rankings by the time all the commitments have been tallied. A minor correction: The early signing period for basketball this year runs from Nov. 9 to 16, not Nov. 10 to 17. Great catch, Raoul. Got it all fixed up, I appreciate that. And I agree with both you, and 81 – all of the ESPN, Scout and Rivals rankings will shuffle quite a bit between now and signing time. So, yeah, Michigan still has room to go up. And 81, I agree with you also – they are generally dependent on class size this early. But, if you look at it from the other side of the coin – that fact that UM is already in the Top 15 with just two verbals is pretty impressive. Great comments – keep them coming. I'm Nick, by the way, awesome to hear from you.

Just so you know, these rankings are partially dependent on higher numbers of recruits. So, the fact that Michigan only has two guys weighs against us. BUT, if McGary signs on, you'll see our ranking skyrocket. Go Blue!
