Michigan women's basketball guard Courtney Boylan named Big Ten Player of the Week

Michigan senior guard Courtney Boylan was awarded the first Big Ten's women's basketball Player of the Week honor Monday.

Boylan, a 5-foot-7 guard from Chaska, Minn., scored a career-high 21 points in the Wolverines' 69-66 win at Florida on Friday.

Boylan also tied a career-high with seven rebounds while collecting an assist in 35 minutes of action against Florida.

The award was the first of Boylan's career and the first honor by a Michigan player since Veronica Hicks won it on Jan. 17, 2011.

Michigan returns to the floor Monday for a 6 p.m. home game against Florida Atlantic.
