Former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier will visit Hawaii next week

By AnnArbor.com Staff

Former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier will visit Hawaii next week, ESPN reported today.

Forcier also is considering San Jose State and Nevada, ESPN reported.

After starting all 12 games as a freshman at Michigan in 2009, Forcier was a backup to Denard Robinson in 2010. He was ruled academically ineligible before the 2011 Gator Bowl.

By the time new coach Brady Hoke was hired on Jan. 12, it was announced that Forcier was no longer with the Wolverines' program. In February, he announced he would transfer to Miami (Fla.), but changed his mind in May.

I thought this would be a bad move at first, but it would be perfect. He could be on vacation 24/7, as is his wont, still manage a degree, and put up some nice numbers against competition that is a notch below the Big Ten. Also, he would be able to find plenty of "appropriate company" on a level with what he was apparently used to while in Ann Arbor. If he has a lot of fun and finishes up with great numbers, it would certainly help the family QB training business become a "force" in the marketplace.

I wish Tate the best but his odyssey since leaving U-M resembles that of a nomad in search of a home where he can be welcomed as the new king. Unfortunately for him, there aren't many teams out there who consider him football royalty.

If I was in young Tate's unique situation, decent athlete but poor academically, I believe I would seek out a college that was willing to take me be the hand and walk me through 4 years of college. If you are a skilled QB there are still plenty of colleges that fit that catagory. Wasn't long ago that ohio state and USC would have been perfect for young Mr Tate Forcier. I always thought that Tate was a better QB than DR and given the right coach his ability could have been enhanced well, Mich. will never know. If DR doesn't dramatically improve his passing skills immediately, it's going to be a long 2 years at the QB position and probably in the win column.

Are you kidding me!!!! Let it go, get over it, move on and so long. Please write about the student athletes that stay, contribute, work their butts off and represent the UM.

I hope he finds what he is looking for and it makes him happy......I wish him luck, but he's going to keep being his own worst enemy I fear, and it more than likely will be a long difficult road for him ! Michigan Football Faithful never forgets it's student/athletes that made a difference for our team....Best of wishes to you Tate Forcier. MgoBlueForTiM...........Go Tate......
