Pregame

Will the often-noted Michigan-Michigan State statistic hold true today? The team with the most rushing yards has won the state rivalry game 38 of the last 42 games.

Michigan State and Michigan both enter today's game with 5-0 records. Michigan is third in the nation in rushing, averaging 324.4 yards per game.

The pregame festivities are under way, and we'll update this file throughout today's game.

More pregame notes

Just dropping in: Members of the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" out of Fort Campbell, Ky., will parachute into Michigan Stadium during the national anthem as part of the pregame festivities.

Honored today: The honorary captain is Phil Brabbs, best known among Michigan football fans as the place-kicker whose last-play, 44-yard field goal gave Michigan a victory against Washington in 2002. Brabbs is fighting multiple myeloma and now is a champion for cancer awareness.

Student section fun: Fans in the student section at Michigan Stadium will form a block M of blue T-shirts that will stand out in the rest of the "Maize Out."

Michigan injuries: Out: Mike Jones (leg), Fitzgerald Toussaint (shoulder), Jared Van Slyke (clavicle), Mike Williams (head), Troy Woolfolk (ankle). Probable: John Ferrara (hand), Mike Shaw (knee).

Skipit, Dantonio has only coached one more year than RR and has been bowl eligible 4 years straight. I should mention that he did this with the last regime's players who were from a totally different system. (spread) They weren't his recruits but he made them his players and didn't make a bunch of excuses. He brought in his own staff and lost a few coaches along the way but remained on course to building a program while we flail along on the back of one player. It's called Snake oil.

That was the worst game I've ever attended in my life...and I was at the Colorado game. Hands down, the worst performance (and effort) I've ever seen out of Michigan. Yet... GO BLUE!!

stunhsif:"...it is obvious how much better a coach Mark D. is compared to RR." How long has Dantonio been coaching MSU? How long has RR been coaching UM? Well, RR will be UM's coach for a long time to come. We'll see whom the better coach is once RR finally gets his system fully implemented. I know the haters and the MSUck fans will be flooding this blog with trash. But remember! We have lost this battle today, but the war is not over.

Dantonio is a much better coach than RR. He is building a program. RR is destroying correction... has destroyed one.

Not ready for prime time... but don't worry, just need more time to build the system, to get our type of players. Then, we'll be there. (Right, in the year 2017)

It's over folks. I was close on the score. I predicted MSU 38 and Mich 21. Mark D. and his well coached team tore Denard apart. Don't want to rub it in but it is obvious how much better a coach Mark D. is compared to RR. Go Green Go White!!

So what exactly has Robinson done this year (beside chalk up personal stats) that Forcier didn't do last year. That's your defense out their Woolfolk. Are their practice habits the same as Forciers?
