DTE power outage map traffic statistics show power outages in the area

When the power goes out in the area, people look for information about how widespread the outage is and when their lights (or their neighbors' lights) will be back on. You'd think that Internet use would be diminished when there's no power, but in fact it's the opposite, as this graph of 2009 Internet page view traffic to the Arborwiki page for Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti area DTE Power Outage Map shows. 

The two outages that affected the west side of Ann Arbor in December - a transformer explosion on December 9, and a series of brownouts in the same area on December 15 - are the big spike on this traffic chart for the year.
