Caroline Foster, Ypsilanti, battles the glaring sun with a little dose of full moon (fake buns costume, of course) as she climbs the ladder to prepare to jump into a pool of ice water during Saturday, February 19th's Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics held at the University of Michigan Golf Course. Normally the plungers would jump into the water hazard in front of the 18th green, but the recent warm weather melted much of the ice in the hazard, so a makeshift pool was set up near the clubhouse and then filled with bags of ice to recreate the same numbing sensation upon entry.
