Motorist who helped pull man from burning vehicle talks about rescue effort
One of the men who helped pull a man from his burning vehicle Tuesday said he acted on instinct and didn't think twice about trying to rescue the man.
Carlos Quintanilla, of Flint, was returning from a job interview in Jackson when he watched an eastbound van on Interstate 94 go into the center median, cross over the expressway and crash into an open field. The vehicle was on fire during the entire incident, and Quintanilla and another man pulled the man from the van so he could be taken to University of Michigan Hospital.
Sports producer Rich Rezler was on scene at the accident.

He and the stranger who had already left the accident scene are heroes. Please let us know where we can contribute to purchase Mr. Quintanilla a new coat to replace the one that was burned during this rescue.

Thanks, Carlos, for stopping to help and save a stranger's life! You and the other gentleman's heroic efforts are to be applauded! May your good deed come back to you ten-fold! I hope you get the job that you were interviewing for; which is why you were on I-94. Thoughts and prayers go out to the burn victim.
