87-year-old accused of being drug mule says he was glad to be arrested

An 87-year-old man who said who was forced to work as a drug mule told The Detroit News today that he was glad he was arrested.

Leo Sharp

Leo Sharp, who was arrested on I-94 near Chelsea , said he agreed to carry cocaine to save his own life and protect his children and grandchildren, the newspaper reported.

Sharp, who was arraigned today in U.S. District Court, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine after Michigan State Police seized 104 bricks of cocaine from a pickup truck during a traffic stop on Oct. 21.

At 87 yrs. old, he must be just plain tired!! Now he will have a bed, be fed and rest his weary head.
