animal costume was on Friday and you were there on Saturday. lots of kids around in the differnt barns that would be willing to tell their story on how they raised a sheep or pig or cow or goat or lama. and what it takes to get ready for fair as well the still projects and the work some of these kids take to make these . let alone the age of them amazed me and my friends that visited we talked to some and they were so excited to tell us about a still project or their animal and let us pet them.. just saying see a teen on a horse texting doesnt say much about 4-H

The horse kids practice year round for the classes they participate in. They raise, feed and take care of their animals all year like all the other kids with other animals do. You sound like the parent at a ball game always yelling at the refs and opposing players. You need to calm down. No matter what the animal is the kids work hard all year to show their animals once a year at the fair. And yes I DO care, my daughter did nothing to you to be so snotty about her picture being in the paper. Please grow up and act your age(I am assuming your are a parent of a goat owner)

Hey kids show Goats and Lamas and Pigs too but as always the Horses get the stories and the cows. How about the kids that take the time it takes to get these animals ready for fair. See about Best Champ for Cows but Not Pigs or Goats or the Ducks and Chickens.. oh wait their not a Horse . Who cares about the girl on the horse Texting why she waits. NOT ME!!! I want to see pictures and stories for the kids who worked hard to get their animals ready. do you know what it takes to get these animals ready for fair or why at fair?? guess ill dress my daughters Goat as a Horse next year

I was only able to attend the show for a few hours Saturday afternoon and the main event at the time was the equestrian competitions. Unfortunately most of the animals were in the barns unattended. I did try to photograph a few other events. If you didn't notice, the very first picture is of Emily Weaver showing her goat, and the last two photos are of goats as well. Though it seems that dressing your goat as a horse may be a good way to win the decorator contest. Thanks for reading.

Hey Doug, look at the story from last year under related stories. Not a single mention of the equestrian events or that there were horses there at all. About time the "horse kids" get their 15 seconds of fame

I guess I am just partial to the horse kids since the photo of the girl on the horse texting is my daughter. Does the no texting and driving laws pertain to horses to?

dugster, They were wrong last year, also! My heart stopped last year when the young girl in equestrian fell when horse refused a jump. I was so shaken I went to see the poultry, seriously. I enjoy all of the Washtenaw County 4-H Youth show and I'm sure you do , too.

We're still a farm community around here ... where are the pictures of the kids with their cattle, hogs, sheep, etc.?

Gosh, I thought there was more to the show than equestrian events.
