Third suspect arrested in fatal shooting at Schooner Cove Apartments in Ypsilanti Township

By Amalie Nash

A third suspect sought since a fatal shooting in Ypsilanti Township on Saturday night has been arrested, Washtenaw County sheriff's officials confirmed today.

Keywone Jarvis Walker of Ypsilanti, 22, is now in custody, sheriff's spokesman Derrick Jackson said. No information was immediately available on the circumstances of his arrest.

Two other men also were arrested overnight Saturday, following the fatal shooting at about 8:23 p.m. in the 5000 block of Bosuns Way in Schooner Cove Apartments.

The accused shooter and another man are expected to be arraigned at the Washtenaw County Jail this afternoon.

Sheriff's officials said the 28-year-old victim and the three suspects were acquainted, but a motive for the shooting has not been released.

@ Stevek in saying what you said, you did blame him. Whatever mistakes he made in his life, he did not kill anyone, maybe you should think before you speak, he was many things to many people, and by saying these terrible things you are only hurting those left behind. Maybe if it were your friend or family member, you would feel differently and not be so judgmental, I hope for your sake you never have to be put in that situation.

@angela---I am in no way blaming Jason for anything that happened Sat night, But don't talk about a capitalistic society where people are obsessed with money. He was convicted for just that.

The victim in this story is named Jason Hoover, he was 28 years old. I've known him since he was 10 years old... His life was erased tragically, he leaves behind a little girl, a fiance, sisters, and so many friends.... I hope the accused are brought to justice and i hope they get what they deserve!!! People need to realize that this capitalistic society we live in is evil, people are so obsessed with money that it has become more valuable than life itself. We need to start making people be held accountable for bad parenting.... Maybe if these 3 suspects had been taught to love something more than the almighty dollar, a little girl wouldnt have to grow up with out her father

Why is the victims name still not released? Seems odd this took place Saturday night and not any newspaper or TV has the victims name. By the comments on the earlier story, everyone in Ypsi seemed to know the person. Whats up with naming suspects and not the victim??
