Big Ten expansion talk heats up; Rutgers' Fred Hill leaves and Duke's Kyle Singler stays

By Michael Rothstein

As BCS meetings begin today in Scottsdale, Ariz., one thing is on the mind of every college commissioner, football coach and fan.

Expansion. More specifically what, exactly, Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany is going to do.

Former Syracuse athletic director Jake Crouthamel told Pete Thamel of the New York Times the Big East is in trouble and he sees "utter turmoil" in the future of college sports. As the debate continues, Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino sees UCF as a potential Big East replacement school, or so reports Iliana Limon of the Orlando Sentinel.

Meanwhile, Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune breaks down how everything could go down once the Big Ten picks its schools. And Texas, according to Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com, says Longhorns athletic director DeLoss Dodds thinks the Big 12 will survive.

@ Jaxon5,... so your 2-10 totals here... is that for msu, osu, or wvu... you didn't say, I'm guessing all three... Just a true fact of course...

Of course it's mathematically impossible, but a pleasant thought. More realistically, W 2, L 10 in 2010. Just an opinion of course.

BowlForBlue Sorry about the typos I was in a hurry and youre right they were really bad. So if I go by Theo212 numbers UM will sweep the Big 10 and no other team in the Big Ten will win more than 2 games in the Big Ten. If you look at it the other way UM loses all 8 and no other team loses more than 2. The math alone doesn't work in both cases, but, "the best thing you could do on these comment pages is listen to Theo".

'a random pickes',... what, is that la la talk, I don't understand? Thing about Theo's picks is, if you watch over the years he is about 122 % right, had a few down years at 104 %... but the best thing you could do on these comment pages is listen to Theo, and learn something!

No, I think that is pretty accurate, msu and osu tie -10 apiece, lose -5 in overtime, game called because someone in a sweater vest tackles an msu player. Look for Michigan to breeze through the schedule, iowa and wisconsin give us a battle, beat iowa in overtime when Denard runs a 98 yard quarterback sneak, beat wisconsin as Pauloski kicks a 68 yd. FG with time running out.

If you are leading with the number of losses you are pretty accurate
