Locally filmed 'AWOL,' re-named 'Love and Honor,' acquired by Lightning Entertainment

Filming for "AWOL," now called "Love and Honor," on South University in 2011.
LE will premiere the film for international buyers at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival; and the movie will likely get an extra boost because it features Liam Hemsworth, who played Gale in the blockbuster hit, "The Hunger Games."
Others in the up-and-coming cast include Austin Stowell ("Dolphin Tale"), Teresa Palmer ("Warm Bodies"), Aimee Teegarden ("Scream 4"), Chris Lowell ("The Help") and Wyatt Russell ("Cowboys and Aliens").
The movie tells the story of a Vietnam War soldier who secretly returns home to win back his girlfriend.
The screenplay is by Garrett K. Schiff and University of Michigan professor Jim Burnstein, and the film was directed by U-M grad Danny Mooney.
