Announcing AnnArbor.com's Summer Garden Contest winners

By Pam Stout

Over the past six weeks, we've enjoyed showcasing 21 beautiful gardens and watching our readers cast more than 640 votes for their favorite gardens. A special thanks goes to everyone who submitted entries and participated in the voting.

Today we're pleased to announce the winners.

Walter Fisher logged an outstanding 208 votes for his winning entry. We look forward to touring and sharing with you his beautiful gardens, meadows, woods and landscaping covering about two-and-a-half acres in northwest Ann Arbor.

Mary Hewlett came in a close second, with 160 votes for her backyard respite. We heard from many of Hewlett's fellow garden club members about the beautiful gardens she shares with the community.
