Coverage of the Michigan freeway shootings

By Staff

Police are ramping up efforts to find the suspect in 24 Michigan freeway shootings this month, mostly around the Interstate 96 area in Shiawassee, Ingham, Livingston and Oakland counties.

The reward for information on the shooter was increased this afternoon, after what was thought to be the 25th shooting occurred. After initial reports of a shooting on U.S. 23 near I-96 Monday morning, police have said that a projectile that was not a bullet likely made a hole in a female driver's car window.

Police say they're devoting more resources to a task force to find the shooter. At least one motorist has been injured in the shootings.
