EMU's Javonti Greene named MAC offensive player of the week

Eastern Michigan sophomore running back Javonti Greene was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts during a 14-10 win over Western Michigan on Saturday.

Greene caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Alex Gillett in the first quarter and scored on a 50-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.

Eastern Michigan is idle this week. The Eagles host Ball State at noon , Nov. 5. Game time is scheduled for 12:06 p.m. at Rynearson Stadium. The Eagles enter the contest with a 5-3 (3-1 MAC) record. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are also 5-3 (3-1 MAC) after rallying past Central Michigan University, 31-27, in Mount Pleasant, Mich., Oct. 22. BSU will travel to Western Michigan, Oct. 29, before making the trip to Ypsilanti.

Junior running back Dominique Sherrer returned from a five-game absence due to injury to lead the Eagles with 86 rushing yards on 11 carries. Greene finished with 61 yards on 13 attempts.
