Michigan men's basketball team got John Beilein's message; QB Ryan Mallet talks about U-M at NFL Combine and more

By Kaleb Roedel

Michigan men's basketball coach John Beilein took a page out of Bo Schembechler's playbook before Michigan's road win over Minnesota Saturday.

Beilein said there were three words on the team's board: "Team, Team, Team", invoking the late Schembechler's mantra, writes Rod Beard of the Detroit News.

The victory kept the Wolverines' NCAA Tournament hopes alive while huffing out the Golden Gophers' in the process. U-M started the Big Ten season 1-6 before turning things around to a now 8-9 mark.

Beard later writes, "Beilein and his coaching staff have propped up a young band of players and made them believe they can play with anyone in the nation."

Beilein should have written "The Spread, The Spread, The Spread", as a reminder of Our King. Nevertheless, it's fun to watch Michigan basketball again. (And nearly just as fun to see potluck u get what's coming to them).

I know why Florida is paying so much. There aren't any American-style Buffet restaurants left in Gainesville, so Charlie Weis wants to buy a Golden Corral franchise and put it within a mile of the Swamp. After all, the poor guy doesn't want to starve. As for Boykins, his honor is well-deserved and probably should have been done earlier. EMU hasn't come close to being as good as they were with Boykins since he left. He actually made basketball in Ypsi that didn't involve MHSAA regionals exciting.
