A little bit of the mundane. A little bit of the unusual.
The annual Big Ten media days kicked off with a jumble of activity Monday in Chicago. Conference commissioner Jim Delany and football coaches discussed expansion, a conference championship game and other league matters.
Then there was this line of questioning directed at Penn State coach Joe Paterno, age 83.
"I'm thinking you're going to be Penn State's coach until the day you die. What do you think about that?" Paterno got a kick out of the question, before answering, "is that wishful thinking or what?"
