Florida football racking up arrests under Urban Meyer; Reggie Bush's Heisman to stay vacated and more
The University of Florida football team has racked up 59 wins in the last five years under Urban Meyer -- not a surprising number by any means.
Then, there's this not-so-admirable number: During that span, 30 Florida players have been arrested, as the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's Dave Hyde points out in a column coming on the heels of running back Chris Rainey's Monday night arrest.
Hyde writes, "The larger story doesn't involve judging a college kid in his worst
moment. It involves waiting and seeing what happens when the police
leave this latest scene of a Florida player, though.
"It's waiting and seeing if the arrests in the Florida football program
ever stop coming. It's waiting and seeing and hoping and urging Urban Meyer to coach his players off the field as well as he does on it."

In this booking photo released by the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Florida football player Chris Rainey is shown in a booking photo on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010. Rainey has been charged with aggravated stalking, a third-degree felony. Rainey was released from the Alachua County Jail on his own recognizance Tuesday and ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim. (AP Photo/Alachua County Sheriff's Office)

According to our resident complainers RR is a hardened, unforgivable criminal at large so what the hell we might as well just forget the rules and win at all cost remember folks, it's all about the win, the win, the win or is that the team, the team, the team. Shades of Barry Switzer giving his players the lead and for that the players loved Barry Switzer didn't work to well in the pros though. This will all work out and I," won't lose any sleep over it, cause the sun will rise tomorrow".

Michigan State has a lock on the criminal colligate football players in the Big Ten; no Big Ten team will surpass them, not even Ohio State.

Funny Forever27. And you may have touched on cause for the NCAA to take a look. When I was ferreting out bad guys in my LE days, I learned that when people violate one aspect of life, like the law, they usually violate other aspects as well, like rules. It's true with behavior, where there is smoke, there is fire. If Fl players are law breakers they are probably rule breakers too. Does the NCAA care? Doubt it, but they should.

Well... we all can't be UM on probation, with our starting wide receiver a repeat convict, and our recruits unable to pass academic requirements.

Who cares if the players are routinely getting arrested? Just so long as the team doesn't practice 20 minutes too long everything is peachy.

Even MSU can't compare to the nightmare that the UofF has inculcated. And this is the team you desperately want to imitate in AA?
