Plenty of big and/or intriguing names dot the just-announced lineup for the 2013 Ann Arbor Folk Festival, including Lucinda Williams, City and Colour, the Civil Wars, and Rodriguez.

Colin Hay will host both night of the event, scheduled for 6:30 p.m.Jan. 25 and 26 at Hill Auditorium. Various ticket presale opportunities start Nov. 1, with a general public on-sale date of Nov. 30. The lineup was publicly announced today by The Ark, Ann Arbor's legendary nonprofit roots-music venue, which presents the event.

Canadian City and Colour headlines Friday's lineup, traditionally a bit more more experimental or youth-oriented. City and Colour is the recording pseudonym of Dallas Green, once the leader of the band Alexisonfire; he has released three albums, the most recent of which is "Little Hell."

Friday also features Rodriguez, the remarkable Detroit singer and songwriter who was forgotten until his music became popular in South Africa, all of which is recounted in the new movie documentary "Searching for Sugar Man"; rising local roots-music stars Frontier Ruckus; and the duo Brown Bird.

Saturday's lineup is led by the folk-pop duo The Civil Wars. The popular act headlined the Michigan Theater last fall.

Also featured Saturday are the great, revered singer-songwriter-performer Lucinda Williams, last in town for a sold-out Ark show in early 2011; indie folk-pop Dar Williams, who has long been a favorite in Ann Arbor; Americana band The Steel Wheels, who've played the area several times in recent years; and old-timey musician Frank Fairfield; and West Michigan's Drew Nelson.

M.C. Colin Hay, once the leader of the Australian pop-rock band Men At Work, has long been a successful solo artist and regular performer at The Ark. Additional artists are yet to be announced.

Member Pre-Sale: Tickets are on sale to Ark annual members by mail only November 1 through 21 and are priced at $47.50 for a single night. Series tickets (both nights) are $85. For information on becoming an Ark member call (734) 761-1800.

Gold Circle and Platinum Circle Tickets: Gold and Platinum Circle tickets - the best seats in the house - are on sale beginning November 1 until they are gone by calling The Ark office at 734-761-1800 or by mail. Gold Circle tickets are $85 for a single night and $155 for series tickets (both nights). Platinum Circle tickets are $160 for a single night and $290 for series tickets. Gold and Platinum Circle tickets include a tax-deductible donation to The Ark. Platinum Circle tickets include backstage passes during intermission and an invitation to our Saturday pre-glow party.

Student Pre-Sale: Students can purchase tickets in advance of the general public, November 12 through 17, through the Michigan Union Ticket Office in person only with a valid student ID. Student tickets are priced at $35, $47.50 and $85 for a single night or $60, $85 and $155 for both nights.

General public tickets are $35 and $47.50 for a single night; $60 and $85 for series tickets.
